Henny
Penny is the barred rock chicken in the middle. Great layer of
brown eggs. She sings like an opera diva in Marysville, Wa.
Henny Penny is a year old now, but this picture taken when
she was seven months old. She lives with three Rhode Island Red hens of
the same age. Henny Penny is the leader, out to scout for food and
sound the alarm when a cat is in the yard. She is quite the opera
diva, announcing the arrival of a new egg, even when the other hens
are laying. She loves McDonald's french fries and earthworms, not
necessarily together. She is calm and seems to enjoy being petted and
chatters at you when you gather the eggs. Henny Penny is just simply
the best barnyard chicken there is.
