I was wondering who could find each others wanted dog color like: "posts pic of last wanted dog, says look for a dog that has black and white speckals"
This thread will probably be a dud but lets start us off. How about a solid red dog.
P.S. Dosent matter where you get your pics. Can be off of pet of the day too.

Where are you finding these colors names from? LOLThe color names I'm familar with come in three (or four) categories.
1) Genetic term for a color or pattern. These are learned from genetics sources including from molecular genetics.
2) Breed specific terms for colors and patterns. For example "red" means different things in APBTs (red/red nose) than it does in an Irish setter or Shiba Inu. Mantle also has different meanings in different breeds. Many more examples. These names are learned from studying breeds.
3) Colloquial terminology that people use to describe what they see. Often these terms don't have anything to do with what the color is officially called in a breed, or called by a geneticist, and sometimes these terms are regional in distribution and may only be used by a small number of people for a certain breed.
4) Wild guesses! http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/3444/crazy1no.gif
I haven't any idea what "steel" is, so someone else can take a turn at that. :)

Hrm. Okay, actually this is not a chocolate brindle. Chocolate is a mutated shade of black that doesn't get darker than brown. This trait is symbolized by the letter 'b', and affects not only the hairs that would otherwise be full black, but also affects facial skin and other areas that might have had black pigment. Edit: Forgot to mention eye color. Chocolates usually have an amber eye color as an adult -- as babies, they have blue eyes which turn hazel and gradually amber as the pigment develops. These dogs are unable to make black color externally.
For example, a dog that would have been a black lab, if it has a pair of the 'b' trait instead of two big 'B's, it would be a chocolate lab. It is a recessive color a recessive mutation of black. Nova scotia duck tolling retrievers, chesapeakes, viszla and other breeds do not have the dominant form which would be "B'.
So, all dogs that are chocolate, do not have black hair, nor black nose, eye rims or black lips -- the color is a shade of chocolate (can be a range of brown colors) instead.

I Love Pugs!!!!! :)I think they are awful cute too. I tried to get a better picture of Miss Vicky from the national pug club and was referred to the rescue folk, but I learned that they really didn't have anything better. Miss Vicky, due to being albino, is sensitive to light, so they avoid unnecessary bright situations, flash bulbs and the like. I'm sure she doesn't live in the dark (as the picture above shows) so I suspect that respect for privacy is part of the deal and I'm sure we don't have a problem with that.
Check out one of the pics of one race car from the rescue site with the icon of Pug Rescue (http://www.pugrescuenc.org/) on it!

Okay I asked for an irish marked tanpoint and it seems that there's a need for some hints! So I'd better cooperate or get thwacked!! heehee :)
Two criteria. Irish Marked (a pattern of white trim) and tanpoint (a type of color pattern).
1) "Irish marked" on dogs is a type of white spotting characterized by...
-Flashy white trim but not enough to be pinto. The dog is basically solid in color.
-Usually there's a blaze on the face, white on the chest, and white markings on the legs.
-Irish marked dogs don't have white coming over the back/haunches, but white can sometimes drape over the shoulders.
-A white patch on top of the neck occurs in some examples. Sometimes it goes all the way around the neck. But sometimes the white mark on the front of the dog's chest is so big it that it can make the neck look it's got a white collar on.
2) tanpoint is sometimes called black and tan.
Find a dog that is Irish marked and is also tanpoint at the same time.
Hint: there are some breeds that are entirely in this color while other breeds may have it as one of its color varieties. :)

That is tanpoint and does have some white accent, but not enough to be "Irish".
Here's another hint! Some of the dogs with Irish marked tanpoint coloration come from a land famous for a yellow cheese that has holes in it. :) heehee
