Sorry to hear about Oscar.
I hope you find out what is causing problem. : (
I wonder if he is eating something that doesn't agree with
his tummy like a plant or something?
Rocky did not do very well on Nutro.
That is why I tried Canidae.
Sheba did well on both foods, but the Canidae was
easier on Rocky's tummy.
(Not saying the Nutro is the cause for Oscar tummy problems)
Jynelle--
Is Oscar puking soon after he eats??
It may be the food. Kito is very picky, and a pain sometimes about eating, but there is one kind of food he absolutely cannot eat--he pukes it up every time.
It's probably worth a shot for you or your mom to pick up a bag of something different next time you're out, and start there.
Nutro is a good food, but it's not for everyone--maybe Oscar's little tummy can't handle it anymore.
Does he eat multiple times a day? If so does he keep his other meals down? If he is only fed once a day try to split up his food so he eats 2 or 3 times a day.
Do you feed him the same time everynight? if so maybe try to feed him a little earlier or later, maybe he just feels off at a certain time of the day.
Nutro is a good food, but again not for everyone, maybe try a different food or at least nutro natural instead of max.
Is there a certain kind of treat he gets at night? Maybe that is the cause?
Is his food still whole when he vomits it back up? If so he is probably eating it too fast, again multiple small feeding throughout the day should help.
Is there any activity he does everynight? Maybe he just can't eat after he gets a lot of excersize?
How old is he? How long has he been on Nutro? Exactly how long have you had him & how long has he been doing this?
What did the vet reccomend? What did they test for? Did they ever give him any meds or anything for this?
we have tryed around 6 other dog foods, and he still pukes. do you think he might have empty stomach syndrom?Quote:

I have never heard of empty stomach syndrom & can't find any info about it either?????
You say you tried 6 different foods, did you give each food a couple weeks before switching to another kind?
I'm sorry I can't help much more, but you didn't answer any ?'s I asked.
When Oscar pukes, is it his food, or a yellowish substance?
Abbey will sometimes throw up the yellowish substance in the morning, before she eats. She hasn't done it in a long time, but for a while she was doing it when she wasn't fed at the same time every morning.

look almost to the bottom of the page. It's too long to post here.
This sounds like what's explained here. It's called Bile Gastritis. Hope this helps.
