Keep Us In Your Thoughts
Andrew's childhood dog, Dyna, got hit by a motor cycle last night. Dyna came to Andrew as a birthday present when he turned 8(Andrew is 23 now). She's 15!
She has lost her hearing and has very bad cataracs (sp?). My mother in law was bringing in some groceries from the car and Dyna got out of the house. Martha didn't notice it. She went inside and starting looking for Dyna, but couldn't find her. she went out and looked for her in vain. 2 hours later, a neighbor 2 blocks away called (Dyna was wearing ID tags) and said that her son accidently hit Dyna with is motorcycle.
Dyna is now at the hospital. The vet says that she has a broken rib, so cuts that got sticked up, and a broken jaw :( They don't know how well she will heal because of her age. She has surgery this afternoon to try and fix her jaw. They will have to use wires and pins. Not sure what that is all about.
Keep Dyna in your thoughts. Andrew is so frantic. He will be coming to GA on Friday afternoon right after he is done flying. We are not sure how well she will do. And if she is in too much pain and there isn't much that can help, the family will let Dyna go. If it comes to that, I hope Andrew gets here in time to say good bye :(

OMG! I am sooo sorry!! We will certainly keep Dyna & Y'all in our thoughts!! That is so tragic!!
Please keep us posted!

Oh, Souraya, I know you and Andrew are sick with worry. And his poor mom, not knowing she had gotten out the door. We will definitely keep you all and Dyna in our prayers.

Oh Souraya, I am so sorry to hear that :( I hope that everything will go good and she will recover! But if she doesn't, it sure sounds like she has had a long, good life and I hope that Andrew gets to see her in time. I know what it's like not to get to say goodbye :(
Keep us posted, I'll keep Dyna in my thoughts, hoping for a speedy recovery!

Will pray for Dyan. I can understand somewhat how you and Andrew & his mother feel - and I hope that Andrew will be able to spend time with Dyan.

Marth has been to the hospital to check on Dyna and the vet says she is stable for now. If she remains stable, then they will have surgery this afternoon at 2:00 PM.
I am going to try to go by there today when I get off work and stay with Martha. Andrew's father is out of town on business and my poor mother in law is alone through this all. It will be a long drive to work in the morning, but I think she really needs me there.
I hope Dyna pulls through this. Thank you all for your concern and prayers.
-
Souraya,
Just a note to let you know how sorry I am on hearing of
this tragic accident. Dyna, you, Andrew and your family will
be in my thoughts and prayers today. Liz.

Oh, no!!!:( Souraya, I will be praying with all of my might that Dyna pulls through. Poor Andrew. Oh, I hope he can get home soon. Love and very special prayers are on the way for Dyna and your entire family. {{{hugs}}}

Souraya:
I hope Dyna comes out of surgery with flying colors. My thoughts and well wishes going to you, Andrew and his family.

The vet's office just called me and said Dyna was stable enough to go through surgery. They will be giving her a general anesthesia at 2. I will post once she is out of surgery.
Once again, thanks you guys!
-
Best of luck Dyna, ya'll are in my prayers.
-
Praying the Dyna surgery is going well...

This news is very sad. :( I pray that God's hand will touch everyone involved in this accident. I believe Andrews mother must be sick with worry and grief over this. I pray the Lord gives her strength and understand to deal with this especially since she is alone. I pray that no decisions need to be made before Andrew arrives and finally that the healing hand of the Lord will touch Dyna.
It is so sweet of you to think of Martha needing you too Souraya. I'm sure she will appreciate you being there.
-
Dear Dyna...You must still be in surgery, sweetie. All paws are crossed for your full recovery. Hopefully we'll be getting a positive update any time now.:)
-
-
Prayers are with Dyna. (you and Martha, too)
-
Hoping that the surgery went well. Praying for the best. Update when you get a chance, please.

I am so sorry that I did not see this until now. Souraya, you, your mother in law, Andrew, and Dyna are in my thoughts. I hope the surgery was successful.
-
So sorry to hear about sweet Dyna!! :( Those old dogs tend to wander...Smokey is 16 and he's constantly wandering around the house now. I'm glad she was at least well enough to go through the surgery! I hope she will make a full recovery, please let us know!
-
Thanks for keeping us posted! I don't know the time difference from here to there, but Dyna is probably in surgery right now. She's in my thoughts
*hugs*
-
What a sad, sad thing to happen for everyone involved. How thoughtful of you Souraya to realize that Martha needed someone with her. Dear sweet Dyna, may you see your Andrew and may seeing him give you the will to mend and recover. I pray that your pain is bearable.
-
Praying that all went well. Anxiously awaiting word.

I am terribly sorry for not posting last night. By the time I left work and got to Andrew's parents' house, it was around 7. I got stuck in rush hour traffic in ATL. I stopped by the vet's to see Dyna and she was still kinda dazed. She is all stiched and bandaged up. She has a wire contraption looking thing around her bottom jaw. Looks a bit like braces but not on her teeth.
Then I got busy helping Martha around the house and walking Magellan (their GSD) who had been cooped up all day because of all that was happening. A thunderstorm hit right before I was going to get online. So, I went to bed. I had an hour drive to get to work. It usually takes me 10 minutes!
The vet said she was looking good. She is still very week and won't eat. They are feeding her with a tube :( She will have to stay till she gets strong enough to go back home.
Andrew will be here tonight at around 6. The vet closes at 6 but we have made arrangements with them to allow Andrew to come visit. One of the technicians was sweet enough to volunteer to stay behind on a Friday evening.
Thanks again for everything you guys. I will update you when I know more.
-
Souraya, I am so glad she made it through surgery and is doing ok. I pray that she will recover quickly!! My prayers are still with her and all of you. That was sooo nice of the tech to stay til Andrew gets in. Hugs to you all.
-
Thanks for updating Souraya. I'm glad to hear Dyna came through the surgery ok, just hope she can recover ok too.
I thought it was awful nice of the vet tech to offer to stay behind too, I guess there are some nice people out there:D
-
Souraya, you are a good friend, and a good daughter in law. I know Martha must have really appreciated your efforts last night to get down there and be with her.
Please tell Martha and Andrew that we will keep Dyna in our prayers and watch for updates as you can post them.
