Here are some pictures from last week.
I'm entering Visa and Solo in the Belgian specialty on the Island in August. I think both dogs will do quite well, atleast I really hope so. Solo's main problem is that he is very low on pastern which is pushing his feet out. I've been exercising him beside the bike for about a month now, trying to strengthen them, and it's worked a bit - he's not nearly as easty-westy as he was before. So I'm hoping by the time of the show they will be corrected. It is outdoors so the grass may hide it. I am not breeding Solo, he really is a gorgeous boy except for that one conformation fault, but he just isn't a spectacular example of the breed in other ways. I am going to show him and possibly special him, and he will be my main sporting dog, but he will not be a breeding dog. I'm sure I'll have better luck with Visa's next litter.
Visa's problem is still her head lol. The Belgians I've seen on the Island are much typer than she is..alot of them are out of European imports..But from what I've seen, they lack good movement, and it's Visa's movement that will get her through. She has the most beautiful movement ever! I don't think she will win a BISS, but I think Solo could. I'm trying to downplay my expectations as I don't want to be dissapointed. As long as my dogs behave and enjoy themselves I'll be happy. It's also a great way to meet what other breeders have.
And Ashley might enter Keeva too!! Right Ashley? *wink wink*
