I passed a tree on the way home from work yesterday that I HAD to take a picture of.... and it inspired me to just ride around and take some fall pictures...

I LOVE FALL... it is my *FAVORITE* season...

Here is the tree that I LOOOOVE... It is orange on all the tips but still green in the center. It is one of the coolest fall trees I have ever seen!!!!

here is a real pretty red tree...

and this tree is real cool.... the top is red but the rest hasn't changed yet...

    more coming.....

    some misc. pictures...

This is a plantation / house that is down the road from my house. It dates back before the civil war... This family owns most of the land on my street and surrounding my house....

and their *autumn* cows!!! SUPER CUTE!!

Sara! I can't believe it! I just came to General to post some pics of a tree in our backyard, and you've just started a thread on pretty fall trees! Talk about great minds thinking alike!

Here's the tree I was talking about. It's so pretty. I would say it's "peak" right now.

And here's a closeup which I thought was cool with the evergreen in front and the bright green of another tree in the back.

And one more with a little different lighting. I think the tree in back is actually turning yellow and that's why it's so bright against the red of this tree.

I love trees when they're in that stage too!

I'd say about 50% of our leaves have fallen already. Fall's almost over - feels like winter.

The one good thing about winter is that I'll have lots of pretty little birdies in my feeder!

    Thanks for the siggy, Lexi_Lover!

Wow, cool! I love plantations and it would be so neat to have one right down the road! Great pics, Sara!

And since we're showing fall colors, my mom has this tree that every year this one branch starts turning way before the others even think about it. This pic was taken in early September. They live near Green Bay, WI, so they are further North and their colors turn earlier than ours here in Chicago, but this one branch really likes to get an early start. And it has done this ever since they've had the tree which is probably at least 15 years now.

Beautiful pics Sara.................and...is that a house?!?!?!?! Its HUGE and so *isolated*. Here, everything's so close together, but it seems that house has a whole *countryside* to itself!

Fall hasn't even started here yet. Our fall normally doesn't start until November.........not really. I mean, we have colored leaves, but very few trees at this point. Our backyard's still clean.............just a couple of leaves on the ground. Its still warm here.

Fall is my favorite season. I love the trees in fall. There was this one by my house that was NEON yellow. And I mean NEON. It was the coolest.

    HA!!!

I looooove the fall... I have been meaning to take some pictures but the trees really haven't turned *at their peak* yet... But that first tree was SO PRETTY.. i couldn't contain it any longer.

I loooove the tree in your yard.... that fire red is soooo pretty!!!

and the one with the early turning branch is wild!!!!! How cool!

Yeah.. that plantation was passed down and is still in the same family who built it over 200 years ago. I am sure it wasn't brick then... I WOULD LOOOVE TO GO INSIDE!!!! I bet it is amazing.. They own hundreds of acres of land.. They have lots and lots of cattle and goats. When I *tried* to start jogging I would always jog down far enough to see the cattle grazing... It was espically nice when the baby cows were close to the fence!!!

It is real quiet on my street... and I love it that way!!

NOW LET'S SEE SOME MORE FALL PICTURES

I have a few fall photos too that I was meaning to post.
These were taken a few weeks ago so the color has changed more since then.
This is a new house that was built this summer, I thought it looked nice with the fall colors.

    More fall colors.

Notice the cows in this photo.

    More cows.

    Thats all!

Great pictures you guys. I love scenic photos, especially of rural New England in fall.
Vermontcat, I still have a 3year old calendar of Vermont hanging on my wall, it is so beautiful. Some day I hope to be able to vacation there.

Thanks to BCBlondie for this great signature!
