    The Little Lions Are Back For The Last Time

    Hi everyone. I took Storm,Sky, and Ziggy Stardust to the groomers on Sat. morning for their annual lion cuts. Unfortunately it was just too stressful for them so this will be the last time that they get lion cuts.

    The groomers give out report cards about the animals and Storm was good but did resist, Ziggy was good probably because she was scared to death, and Sky was a little terror and tried to bite everyone so they said that he'll need tranquilizers in the future.

    I dropped them off at 10am and they said that they'd be ready at 4pm. They were actually ready at 3:20pm so I left a little after that to go get them. It wasn't as busy there since it was a holiday weekend which was what I was hoping for but they were all very stressed out. On the way home I smelled something awful. I always put puppy pee pads in the carriers in case of accidents. I thought that one of them had peed on the way home but I was wrong.

    I brought Storm and Ziggy upstairs to my condo and let them out and Storm started hissing at everyone which is actually a normal reaction for him. I then went back downstairs and when I got Sky I noticed a horrible odor. I didn't see anything and I let him out of his carrier when we got back to my condo. I looked closer and he had pooped in the carrier and had managed to push it under the base part that clips to the bottom of the carrier. It was smashed in between. Luckily it wasn't diarrhea but it was still a big mess.

    Today Sky has been having sneezing attacks and it's probably because he either got so stressed out yesterday or something at the groomers may have caused this. He's still on 5mg of pred and his other medicine at night for his asthma attacks and he's been doing great until today. Tomorrow I'm supposed to start him on 2.5mg of pred in the mornings which I'm still going to do. I just hope that this sneezing doesn't continue or get worse. Ziggy has also been growling and hissing at both of her brothers so she's still stressed out too. This groomer trip just wasn't worth it and now I wish that I had never taken them. I'll post some pictures of everyone in the next post.

    Tracey, I just love your kitties. They are all so beautiful whether lion-cut or not. I love their facial expressions the most, so sweet! I hope they stay much cooler with their summer cuts. Please give them tons of hugs from me.

    I ran the air conditioner (in the bedroom) most of the day yesterday because it was in the high 80s. Cassie spent most of the day on the living room carpet. I put it back on after the fireworks and she slept with me till about 3 AM.

    Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!

    Tracey, I'm so very sorry your kitties had such a stressful day and it's doubly stressful on us hoomans. I hope in a few days they will settle down and be more comfortable in their lion cuts. I just love Ziggy's bi-eyed closeup, but please give them all kisses from me.

    {{{hugs}}}

    Don't you hate it when they stress so bad?! Amy stresses so bad at the vets sometimes that she scares me so bad, I almost get hysterical. Other times she is fine... what is with that?

    Ziggy is so stunning it takes my breath every time I see pictures of her. MAN! She sure is pretty!

    I love their cuts but I agree with you it is not worth it to stress them out that bad.

    Thanks again everyone. I thought that Sky was improving today but he had a bad asthma attack tonight and his right eye is runny and goopy so I made a vet appointment for him tomorrow morning at 10:30am. My vet is working and she actually had an opening.

    I have tomorrow off so I'd rather have him checked out tomorrow than risk him getting worse and then having to take time off of work later. I think that the stress on Sat. was just too much for him and since he's on pred it also suppresses his immune system. Here I was worried that Storm would get car sick or Ziggy would get so stressed out that she would get pancreatitis again. I've already told my cats that they'll never have to go to the groomers again. I feel so bad about all of this.
