Nice work - now you just need to move your windows up a bit.

looks great! We did the exact same thing after our laundry room flooded and ruined the carpet in the living room (needed replacing anyway). We also have a tiled corner that the woodburning stove stove sits in. Make sure you get the heat shield thingies for the walls behind the stove. Othwise the walls get very hot and tend to warp!
blue, i wanna redo the office floor....wanna come and help?

Thanks Barry!
Im realy happy with the way the oak blended in with the cherry. I think Im gonna wait awhile to do the flooring in my bedroom unless I get another screaming deal.
Where the wood stove is going to go Im gonna tile the wall behind it as well as the floor.
Nice work...
Now I have to find the time and money to do the kitchen floor!

Your floor looks great! I must applaud you if you did it alone. When I did mine, I sure could have used an extra hand to fit the long sections together.
I had less problems putting the transitions in than I did getting around the doorways. Are your floors basically the same level? Or are you transitioning from one material to another?
How pretty! I love that kind of flooring!

It really looks good, now if only I could talk hubby into doing the kitchen
It looks great! Our new house has hardwood floors. I hate them!
I call them softwood floors -- we have managed to scratch and ding them so much. I sure miss the laminate floors at our old place!

Just me with the dogs supervising, I had to put them outside a few times to get things done. When I did the 2 rooms and the hallway Bluedawg looked worried the entire time. The glue together stuff is much harder then the click together stuff. I did the computer room in strips, clicking a run together and then locking it to the previous run. The living room I did one plank at a time and used a beater block and a hammer to lock them togerther.
Transitions arent going to be that fun, none of the flooring is the same thickness, 3 different brands. I have to get some tile for where the wood stove is going, so yet another thickness for transitions. Im sure when I do the flooring in my bedroom it will be yet another thickness, so more fun.
I have laminate in my kitchen but its not recomended.
They are actual wood. I think the contractor said they were maple. They were installed about 2 years before we bought the place.
Don't know who built it. It's actually older than the house we just sold. I just meant it was "new" to us. It needs a lot of work, but we are very happy there.

If the house was built after 92 Ild really like to find out the builder to see if I worked on it. Ill be in Anchorage next week and the following week taking classes, even if I didnt work on it I might be able to find out who built it.
