Poor dear Blaze. I'm crying just reading your post. Prayers are on their way for a quick and complete recovery.

Oh Candy, your description of Blaze breaks my heart I hope that this is for sure the diagnosis and Blaze can be treated as the vet says. Now he has to try and regain his weight and strength. We'll be praying very hard for beautiful Blaze's quick and complete recovery.

I hope that this is a correct diagnosis as well, and Blaze can get stronger again. I just know you'll be posting pictures soon of Blaze running around outside, healthier than ever!!

I sure hope that they have found out that this is what's wrong with him, instead of not knowing. I just hope the sweet boy will be ok.

I am so sorry I haven't updated everyone until now. I have been going through my own personal problems the last week or so and haven't been posting much.

Anyway.... Blaze started to eat small portions about a week ago. Daily he has increased his intake and is now able to hold down his normal ration. He has even gained 3 pounds!!!!

They are now sure it is irritable bowel. He will remain on prednisone for another 2 or 3 weeks and will stay on a special prescription diet until he gains his weight back (13 pounds in all). Then is he doesn't have any more reoccurances he will be able to eat his regular food again. If he does have another reoccurance then it is a special diet for the rest of his life.

Thanks for all your prayers and supportive thoughts. I believe God hears our prayers and answers. You are a great group of dog lovers whose moral support is invaluable in times of need!
