The house was built in 1981. Don't know how many owners it has had to date, but the folks right before us installed the wood floors. They didn't get a chance to finish off the closets and put molding on. So, we've doing that. When we moved in, we noticed a few compressions in the floor. There was a scratch here and there, but nothing major. I've managed to pop out the compressions for the most part with a steam mop. But, the major (to me -- husband thinks it's no biggie) are the gouges in the dining room. When we moved in, one of the feet came off of the couch. So, the screw scratched the floor when we slid the couch across the floor. Steaming helps the appearance for a while, but then the gouges are back. A guy I work with refinishes floors. He's going to take a look to see if he can make some improvement.
