Good luck, Liz. I hope you manage to catch Mama Kitty. I know how skittish they can be.
Good luck, Liz. I hope you manage to catch Mama Kitty. I know how skittish they can be.
Mama is still here. I've not been able to grab her, only make her feel worse.
I tried 3 different times & finally, I just let her calm down & breath better.
I don't want her last look at me,to be afraid.
The Vets office was short staffed all day. When the Vet answers the
phone, you know they are short of people. Can't spare anyone to come
here. The E Vets 24/7 clinics, & I could take her in if I can get her there.
I am going back to check on Mama & we'll see how it goes.
Thanks for the prayers offered.

Liz, if you can't get her in the carrier, wrap her in a towel and hold her; have someone drive you to the vet. The vet may not like it, but there are emergencies! We took my RB kitty Jamara to the vet that way for all 18 years we had her. She WOULD NOT go into a carrier.
If you can manage that, call the vet, tell them you're on the way and the cat is not in a carrier. They'll make sure there's somewhere you can take her.
Good luck!
GO RAVENS!!
Liz, what did you mean about her last look at you being afraid??
I think Liz is afraid that Mama Cat will have to be PTS.

Oh, god. I am so sorry. I pray that is not the case.
Maybe not, Liz. I can't count how many times I thought it was the end for my Puddy, especially one time when she slowly walked out of my bedroom, then paused, turned and looked at me. It gave me chills and I thought sure it was the end but she lived for another year after that and, if you can recall, Puddy had so many issues. I hope that all will be well w/Mama Kitty and that your vet will have the answer. Keep the faythe.
Blessings,
Mary

Mama has retreated to the rafters in the garage. I didn't think she
would make it overnight, but she did & she's strong enough to climb the
shelving in the garage. I asked the guy across the street if he could
help me(they have cats too) and he came over, but no luck. He said he
is willing to try again later in the day, so we'l see how it goes.
Mama certainly is stronger than I thought she was, so I won't give up on her.

Liz- just putting ideas out there. Try a bedsheet, and make it into a giant pillowcase and trap her. Or, if there is a fisherman in your area...get his net (they used the net with my mom's cat- he is very starchy) and trap her with the net. You would prolly need a guy to flip it up, as the pole length is usually too long for a female's upper body strength to hold up.
Hugs to you and Mama Kitty.
Thanks for the suggestions, I have been racking my brain too. After the
neighboor guy went home for the last time, I put the carrier inside my car
and went back in house.I fed the dogs, and the inside cats & the three
regulars who have supper on my porch.
I went back out to check Mama again & she had come down from the rafters
I held out my hand & talked to her & she came right up to me and laid
her head against my leg. I could just cry.

Are you going to crate her overnight? Take her tomorrow? To an er vet tonight? The breathing thing sounds so serious to me.
Liz - any news?
