Well here it is 2:54 am and I'm awake Guess I'm just getting nervous about our visit to OSU.
I know things will be just fine and they'll do a good job. We've got the best surgeon at one of the best facilities so why am I so worried lol? Guess it's just what us moms do.

I thought I'd update as to what we've raised, and so far the total is up to $4085 Only $915 away from our goal!
We have one angel who wants to remain anonymous send us $25 and another who's sent us $50 (thanks robinh!) and one more at my work donate $20 (a guy who works in the kitchen), plus my mom sent another $20. Everyone has given much more than I would have ever imagined and I am so totally overwhelmed by the generosity because I know money is tight for everyone.
I know there will come a day when I can pay it forward!

    I you all!

I'll update when I get home this evening.

Holding good thoughts for Roxey's surgery, seeing angels guide the vets' hands as they work on her. : )

Well we didn't get home until around 7 pm(we left at 9 this morning ). Lots of waiting, but I understand why...lots of dogs there.
They did blood work and x-rays and said she wasn't a good canidate for the knee replacement so they are doing the TIBIAL PLATEAU LEVELING OSTEOTOMY or TPLO (middle of the page) The surgeon said it would be a much better surgery for her. They'll be putting a steel plate in her leg with 6 screws.
We left her there and they are doing the surgery tomorrow morning. They've already called and told me she had dinner, pottied and is resting fine and not stressed out (that's my good girl!). They will be calling me before and after the surgery to let me know how things are going. This place really seems to care a lot about the animals. I know our girl is in good hands

Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and I'll update when I get more info.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Anna, I have found that University Vet School Hospitals are so much better than people hospitals when it comes to keeping patient's families informed.

Several years ago we had to take one of our cats, Grady, to Michigan State for repair of a badly fractured left femur. He was there just 48 hours, but in that time they called us at least 8 times - keeping us up to date on the surgery, etc.

We are so thankful that if needed, we are just 49 miles from MSU.

Pawsitive thoughts and prayers that Roxy's surgery goes well. We had RB Mandy to Ohio State twice and were highly impressed.
