Eliot's Butt Bath - for Peanut Butter's Mom

Ok Peanut Butter's Mom - as promised and at the risk of offending anyone - here is the butt bath sequence. This happens only every several months but is really no big deal - it is just a quick dip of the rear end because Eliot has this smellibutt syndrome. I wanted him clean and sweet for Christmas company! So here goes - you get to see my moldy bathroom and my not so attractive rearview as well
Get the tub half full of nice warm water:

This is the hardest part - catching the cat. He KNOWS by now what is about to happen. It is cat sonar or something, no matter how casual I act:

Ok, this is the headlock. No he is NOT being tortured, I have well padded knees and a good grip on his back half.

Dip the smelly back side into the warm water, lift up and shampoo, lower and rinse well. He actually relaxes when he feels the nice warm water

Dry with a fluffy towel and tell him how good he is!

Now, was THAT so bad? Well, Eliot is sulking for the next hour, but he DOES smell better and the whole thing took about three minutes

Loved the shot of him between your knees - his look says, "Help me! For the love of everything good, help me."

And the last one of you with your hands up completes the story!!!!

I should do a story of Allen's much needed bath, but my son cleaned the tub this week, and well, there is a black ring he insists will not come off - I'm too embarrassed to show it. 17 year old boys seem to think that if you sprinkle Comet and take the shower head to rinse off without the fuss of scrubbing, that things are clean and the detergent doesn't work! I knew it was too good to be true when he volunteered to clean the bathroom.

LOL! What a great series of pics - the headlock is my favorite shot!

I had to groom Mitzi's back-end yesterday (to GREAT protest) as she had developed a bad case of diarrhea as a result of the antibiotics the vet put her on after her teeth cleaning/extraction. She wanted NO part of my attempts to clean her up, but I persisted. I was able to brush out most of the "debris" and she took care of the rest. Bathing her would have been out of the question - she HATES being held and I would be putting my life at risk if I attempted to bathe her. They're both off the antibiotics now as it was giving them both diarrhea.

Thanks for the great pics and starting my day off with a chuckle!

LMAO!! Tears are in my eyes. The pics could be in a textbook as a step by step guide for the butt bath. Too funny! Love it.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

LOL These pics are priceless. I'm glad that he relaxes and it only takes 3 minutes. I don't think I could do this to any of my furkids. That's why I use baby wipes instead.

No butts about it, that's hilarious!!!

I have to do the same thing with Max but I have to use the kitchen sink.

    Dip in butt
Rub with a bit of soap
Grab the cat who is now half way out of the sink
Dip in butt again and rinse.

    Ahhh, you gotta love it!!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Mom, I know you said I'd see a buttshot, but I didn't expect THIS! Classic! We should save that picture as a family heirloom...
