    Good Girl, Tori!!

Alden and I were not home much yesterday. We went golfing in the morning (Alden golfed, I drove the cart ), then in the afternoon we went boating with my sister and her husband, Greg and Brandon and his girlfriend, Ashley. It was a really good day.

So...the girls wound up spending a big part of their day in their crates I felt so bad that I stayed up late with them letting them romp and play. I wound up falling asleep on the couch and woke up about 1 am and they were curled up in their usual spot in the living room. When I went on to bed I did not have the heart to wake Tori up and tell her she had to go to her crate. I decided to take the risk and leave her be . Well, at 5:30 this morning I was awaken by little Miss Tori just a wiggling and licking all over me. She had hopped up in bed and was between me and Alden. I asked her if she was trying to tell me she had to go potty and she gave a little whine and so off we headed for the back door where she promptly went out and did her business. I took a look around the house and nothing was chewed up and there were no accidents to be found! This is her first full night out of her crate and I am so proud of her!

    Good girl, Tori baby!

YAY for Tori and YAY for you!

Sounds like you're doing GREAT with her, and pretty soon she'll be out with no accident -- ALL of the time!

    GUD GURL, Tori!!

    Hey Robin ~

Lil *TIP* I've used for many years and several FurPups ~~

Pick *UP* their water dish about an hour BEFORE bed time!

Unless it's 110 degrees in the howze - most dogs can do just *fine*
withOUT needing a drink during the night!

Tori is still a PUP - and may not be able to "hold it" for
    6-8 hours - YET...
But do your best to teach her to increase her "holding time" so
you can get a FULL night's sleep without going through the
    middle-of-the-night *PAW-PAW-WHINE*...
"MOM! I gotta go OUT - NOW!"

Mine have ALL learned that when "we" go to BED -
we STAY in bed till DAD sez it's Tyme to Get Up!

Never mind that DAD reserves the right to "go poddy" at OhDark:Thirty
in the middle of the night - FurKids do NOT have that same privilage!

When left alone, at either the Shop or the House,
they "ration" their water intake to an absolute minimum...
and can "hold it" for upwards of 12-14 hours!
THAT doesn't happen often - but they have done it a few times
when I've been tied up on a job or a fire call!

    Another *TIP* ~~
Don't "teach" either Katie or Tori to become Submissive PEE-ers

I did it with Cinder - and it took almost a year to learn the bad habit
    and then to UN-learn it!
It Started with a chewing problem - she chewed the skirt off a chair
and a couch - TWICE - when I had left her upstairs with the Kat
during Mom-Visits... She was *punished* and sent to the "Tyme-Out Chain"
in the basement - and of course had NO IDEA "why" she was being punished -
the chewing had possibly happened hours before I came home and
discovered it - and THEN punished her...

I got in the BAD Habit of confining her in the basement when I
had to leave her (similar to "crating")...
And SHE got into the bad habit of SUBMISSIVE PEE-ing when
    I would return!

THANKS to Pet Talk *I* learned her two bad habits were mostly
MY fault ~~ Delayed *Punishment* and improperly *greeting* her upon return!

I first started TOTALLY *ignoring* her when I returned...
NO Happie Voice; NO Eye Contact; NO Acknowledgement she existed!
    I'd come in, walk right past her, and go upstairs;
leaving her in the basement for 5-10 minutes.
Then, without a word, I'd let her outside...
AFTER she *pee'd*, we'd have our GLAD to SEE You reunion outside!

Within 3 months she completely *STOPPED* the Submissive Pee *greeting*!

And the *chewing problem* sort of went away with maturity ~
(and 6 months of "NO Chew!!" + Face & pointing to the chewed furniture!)

GOOD Luck! You're off to a GREAT Start with the Girls!
