I just found out this morning that Royal Canin has recalled a lot of its presctiption diets. Two sources say this:
The company that makes Royal Canin dog and cat foods has voluntarily recalled several batches of food because they contain elevated levels of Vitamin D3. The foods are only available for purchase at veterinary clinics, so distribution is limited. The foods that have been recalled are: Canine Low Fat LF canned (best before 06/2007), Canine Calorie Control CC in gel canned (best before 4/2007 and 7/2007), Canine Urinary SO in gel canned (best before 3/2007, 5/2007 and 6/2007) and Feline Sensitivity VR canned (best before 5/2007). Contact where you purchased the food, your vet. Notice says if blood levels
Ca levels above 14.1 mg/dl with or without medical signs may require special
treatment.
