    Update on Bellefonte, PA Rescue

    Hi All,

I finally downloaded some pictures of Hermies, that's what my boyfriend and I decided to call him for now, until we find a home for him. I'm still not sure on giving him up yet, but I don't know how fair it would be to my 2, 3, 4, and 6 cats.

Anyway, I'll keep you all updated on what happens.

Melissa - you wouldn't be the first rescue mom to have a newly placed kitten or cat come back to her. It might happen!

Or, there is now a place for one that will really be meant for you to keep.

Hopefully you can stay in touch with the lady and get updates and pics!

What is one more face in a crowd? They don't eat that much...

Melissa - can you go to her home and take him? I would want to do that. Did she give you a reference from her vet? He looks as though he has a cold, so she'll need to take care of that right away. There will be lots of rescue cats still to come so you need to start out by being able to give them to the right homes. Did you charge her anything for the kitten?

You mentioned taking a stool sample to the vet on Monday.

Is this lady going to take Hermies to the vet? Does she know about this?

Or should he be healthy before he goes to her?

    What's happening with Hermie's health?

    Hi,

I'm going to be keeping Hermies. We are going to try it out with the my other cats to see what happens. Hopefully it will work out for us.

I'm going to be taking his stool sample to my vet first and yes I did inform this lady who was going to take Hermies but I called and told her today and told her I was planning on keeping him and that I was sorry but I felt it was the best choice at this time.

    Hopefully, I'm right.

When you said "try this out" I didn't know what "this" was!

Good luck. I hope he feels better soon!

Yeah I didn't put that well at all.

I did catch another one today !!!! YEAH!! and it was BOY!!! His name is Ottis and he is pretty wild but he's fixed now and recovering and he'll be most likely released tomorrow morning or night depending on how he eats.

    Talk to you all soon.

I'll keep you posted on my new little addition which I hope he will stay forever but it all depends on how my cats are going to react to him.

Is Ottis a kitten? Is there a chance he might tame down? I wish there was a foster place to help out.

A lot of our PTr's live in PA. Have you been in touch with any of them?

No Ottis is over a year and he's very wild...he jumped out of the cage when the vet assistant and I tried to put him in it and we have to get a rabies chocker to get him off of the window frame.

Now if he is calmer by the evening maybe but he's wild I think. But at least he's fixed.

No I haven't contacted any of the PTr's in PA. I have about 6 more vouchers to use and then I'm done with what I'm able to do I think. But we'll see.

    Thanks,

    Melissa

Good luck with Hermies. I hope the other cat is safe outside...the weather will be changing...is there no chance of socializing him so he can be an indoor cat?

Thanks Hermes is so cute. Ottis is very wild, and I'm just working on TNR right now since I finally have the vouchers to do so. But if I come across one that isn't so wild I would be willing if I had a place to keep it but I don't now that I took Hermes in and especially since I'm planning on keeping him.

I wish I had a place to keep the older ones but I just don't. I know it's not fair to let them outside but they won't come near me and I just feel it's best at the time to do a TNR.
