    Tornado near my parents - they are ok.

    A tornado is approaching my parents home!! Right this minute.

    Thank you all!! I am still waiting to hear if they are ok. They were heading the the cold room in the basement. OMG I just can't believe this.

    Environment Canada has confirmed a tornado has touched down 25 kilometres west-northwest of Sundre. The storm is moving southeast at approximately 25 kilometres per hour. Few other details are known at this point.

    My mom just called. They are ok. Boots the cat is in the house and napping in his fav spot. They have supplies in the basement and are prepared in case there is another. They are still under a tornado watch. Mom said "it rained like H*LL!" but nothing else. Thank goodness.

    Gayle texted me to tell me that Cochrane was under a tornado watch...and the area actually got upgraded to a warning. I was working north of town (Sundre is further north), and this black sea of cloud was bearing down on us. I drove south, then west to pick up a paycheck...then north for a bit...anyway, got home safely with a few groceries.

    I saw the beginning of a funnel cloud, but not a full one, yet.
