Went on a hike today <pics>

I had the day off of work so my mom and I decided to take the dogs on a hike. There's a G on the mountain (for a City name) and a trail that leads up to it. My mom had never hiked it before so off we went. We weren't too intelligent however as we went during the hottest part of the day.

The destination.....trail starts clear over on the right side at the bottom

    Reggie and Sydney

Fluffy butt headed up the hill. He wore his backpack to help carry water...good thing we had that much water, had to keep dumping it on the schnauzers to keep them cool.

Pretty flower...Sego Lily I think (state flower)

    Plants, not sure what kind...thistle?

Sydney found a cool spot to take a break

She was joined by Reggie and Nebo

Found a little creek running down the mountain, nice cool water...Nebo loved it

    Nebo surveying the valley

You can see the G here in the distance

    Nebo

    Wildflowers

    Getting closer

Fluffy butt getting tired (his tail isn't up...it's always up unless he's tired)

    Standing on the G

    Can you spot Sydney?

I won a box of these Vive energy bar for dogs at Strut Your Mutt. The dogs loved them, here's Nebo taking a bite.

    Big tongue Bebo

We let Reggie and Sydney loose on the way back for a while...they had to get ahead of Nebo of course

    Reggie, Nebo, Sydney

I took Nebo out on some rocks to take pics

Sydney followed.....found a nice shady spot and rested for a while (she got hotter than the others because of her black fur)...try to spot her in this pic

Down at the bottom, Nebo getting a cool drink from the drinking fountain

He found a nice cool rock to rest on too

    That's all

WOW Amy! That "G" looks pretty far away in the beginning of the hike. You are your mom are very physically fit! I would be passed out on the trail long before reaching it! LOL! I agree with Karen. You live in such a beautiful place. I love your pictures in the winter and now in the warm weather too. The dogs look terrific as always. Nebo is sooo handsome and what a good boy to carry the backpack for everyone! Great pictures as always!

Physically fit? Nahhhhh far from it.... We had to stop a lot to give the dogs water so it wasn't bad.

Great pics! Looks like you had your work cut out for you. The dogs must have had a great time! There are tons of mountains over here, but I don't know where all of the good hiking spots are --- I would love to try hiking one day though, and bring along my dog I'm getting next year. Good exercise, and what a great experience it can be.

Looks like a great way to spend the day. Thanks for letting me dream anyway. Going on a virtual hike is a great way to spend the evening. And thanks Nebo for bringing the extra water.
