    Cole and Oscar annual checkup

I finally got some $$ together and took them both in. I got a discount for bringing in the two at one - considering they have gained a bit of weight, I'd say they qualify for a BULK discount, all right!

Cole is just over 5, Oscar is 8 in January. No shots this year - teeth, temp, thyroid, bladder, kidneys, eyes were brilliant! Heart beats nice and low.

Bought some Medi-Treats and we were on our way. They were VERY good boys! :-)

Note on their report card: Try for a modest amount of weight loss. Ok, boys, that's all three of us!

Not that this is for every cat, but this is what I feed them etc:

    1. Origen dry - high protein, keeps the urine pH at a point that inhibits crystals. Just over 1/2 c a day each, in three servings. The first serving is a light crunchy base for the soft food goop (see below).

    2. Medical SO (urinary tract formula). 1/8 of a can, soaked in a bowl of hot water, drained and split between the two of them, with 1/2 tsp of salmon oil mushed in. I got it at a pet store. Less stinky formula - and the boys love it!

    3. Treats - MediCal, Greenies or non-grain/organic treats. (no 'fast food' treats like Temptations, etc)

Must be doing something right - so far, the vet bills have been for maintenance.

Glad that they had such a good checkup! It's so nice that they are doing so well healthwise.

Time helps the sadness subside, but the memories remain forever.

I'm glad to hear that they did well at their check up. Hopefully they'll both continue to do well for many years to come.

Wow, no health issues. What's that like? LOL Seriously, I'm glad that all is well, Candace. That's great news.

I wish my boys would eat Greenies. They turn their noses up at any treats but Temptations. They don't get very many of these, so I don't feel too guilty!
