    Hazel's Prognosis Not Good

I updated in the previous thread, but thought I'd just start a new one.

We just got home and it's not looking very good. Hazel's xray's showed some calcium deposits in the kidneys and one kidney larger than the other. I feel terrible. I just knew this was weird, and afraid of this. She also had blood in the urine. They gave her a shot to settle the vomiting down and 2 prescriptions. They put her on a kidney diet, which will be very difficult with all the other cats, but it will be done! One prescription I give 20 minutes before eatiing, it's called Sucralfate. The other prescription is cosequin and if I remember right, it's for the urine. I'm just so depressed. They said this is progressive.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

Lisa, my heart is breaking for you and Hazel. I'm sending extra special prayers tonight for both of you.
