    Rest in Peace, Tyler

Tyler was the sheltie where I used to work, the barkiest little furball you'd ever hope to meet. He was a tricolor boy, a little on the small side. He was a good dog at heart though, just a little neurotic, and didn't really know he was a dog. The closest he ever got to playing with another dog was when another dog would consent to be herded - being a sheltie, he took herding quite seriously. He got sick last night and was taken to the vet, where they found a large and inoperable tumor, so he was put to sleep this morning. I got an email from the coworker he 'adopted' after I left, who wanted to let me know.

Tyler barked at trucks outside, people in the hallway, the doorbell, he barked for alarm, for joy, and just for the sake of barking. He'd eat anything he could get, including non-edibles that had touched foodstuffs, and was never above raiding office trashcans. The world will now be a quieter, slightly sadder place.

Oh Tyler. You sound like you really lived life with relish. And that's exactly how it's supposed to be. I know you'll be missed so much. With all that personality, how could you not be missed? I hope there's lots of animals for you to herd at the RB. Rest well and I'm glad you didn't have to suffer.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Have fun at the bridge, Tyler.

    Just remember.......

Lucas will object to being herded, so take it easy on him, Okay?

Rest in Peace Tyler We hope you're having fun at the bridge, herding to your little hearts content

A couple of my RB pets wouldn't have cared for being herded either but I don't think they would mind now. Please say hello to all of them

    I've been Boo'd...
    Thanks Barry!

Dearest Tyler, I hope you have found my two herders up there at the bridge, Cody and Willie. They'll have a blast with you. You are loved and missed here on Earth, but your memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.

Play hard at the bridge Tyler, and keep all those little ones "safe" with your herding.
