If you have windows XP you can use Windows Movie Maker and "save to my computer". That allows you to choose the size that you would like it to be and also shows you what the resolution and quality would be at each size.

Can I please learn something, too?

WHY would you want to compress it?

Is that like, when I video something on my camera, I can't email it to anyone as it exceeds the size I am permitted for attachments? So I can compress it and maybe get it down to a size to send? But it sounds like you are changing the resolution and quality?

    Thanks for any info!

Compressing it does make it small enough to email but quality files take up space. The smaller the space that you try to cram the file into the lower the quality/resolution will be. That being said, I have successfully compressed a 10 or so MB file down into a 2mb file without sacrificing too much quality

You and me both, Mike, he he.

So compressing it is just for storing it?

Once compressed, can you make it big again?

www.yousendit.com is great for sending large files. For free, you can send one file of quite a few MB.

If you do get your video downloaded, Zip it, then try the method above.

    Good luck!

Yea, like for e-mail except it's so I can post it for a friend on youtube but it's too big.

Only if it's a marble one...compressed surface has to be level, you know.
