Doing Anything for Labor Day Weekend?

We may take a drive for the day to Jerome, AZ. It's an old ghost town that has been refurbished with shops and restaraunts. Very interesting place!

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

Ohh, a ghost town. That sounds like fun!!!

We are doing NOTHING this weekend. I'm volunteering at the shelter for a few hours then we are going to a block party BBQ this afternoon. Other than that I'll be cleaning house. Yippie!!

Oh, maybe I'll see if we can take the dogs to the coast.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Trying on the clothes I am taking on the cruise and then getting them ready to pack...been putting that off for 3 days!

Tomorrow - hoping to make it to a benefit for our friend Joe who now has been given about 2 weeks to live. He just found out a month ago he was stage 4. BUT - he will not get the latest news til Tuesday, so we are hoping he will arrive tomorrow and have a really fun time!

Monday - parking my butt on the Big Bike in our Labour Day parade - it raises money for the Heart and Stroke people. I've raised over $200, which for me is pretty good!

30 people on one bike...there are still a few seats left!

I lived in Sedona for a couple of years and occasionally would venture into Jerome. Lots of art galleries and shops. Be sure to eat at the restaurant that used to be a brothel. (Sorry, I can't recall the name of it.) And go aaaaall the way back into Jerome where you can still see how it was before it became the tourist attraction that it is now. But then, maybe you've been there before and I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know. Jerome is one of my son's favorite places.

I'll be preparing for my family's visit this weekend. My son is flying in from L.A. on Tuesday and my sister, niece, great nephew and his wife are driving from PA on Thursday. So I have lots of cleaning, cooking and preparation to tend to. I'm still in shock that all but my son are coming. This will be only the second time that my sister has visited me since I left home at age 18. I drive to see her but she doesn't drive here but my niece will be driving so she said she'd like to see my son, whom she hasn't seen in 15 years. So we're having a mini family reunion. I still have to pinch myself and pray that she doesn't cancel at the last minute.
    Blessings,
    Mary

    Shopping for a toilet.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Yup, slick's flush with excitement. Hope the shopping trip isn't too draining...

My mom, dad and I took a drive up to Wisconsin today for a tour of Ten Chimneys, the residence of actors Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. It was a lovely day for a car trip - bright sunshine, not too hot - their home is in Wisconsin's Kettle Moraine area and the whole day was wonderful. Theatre fans, you really ought not to miss this.

And tomorrow I hope to make it to the Bow Wow Barbecue for Reach Out Rescue, NFP and meet Tracy. I've purchased the ticket already and I have something else going, but I hope it'll end early.

I was going to get 50 lbs of cucumbers and make dill pickles, however the hail storm in early August wiped out the cucumber crop so I'm out of luck. Guess I'll just sit around and relax with the fur kids.

Painting rooms and moving furniture--hopefully in a few days, Malcom will finally have his own bedroom.

I'll be thinking of the folks at the Findlay gathering, and be attending my niece's birthday party. 14 years ago my sister went into labor the day after Labor Day, and this year Emily's birthday falls on Labor Day itself!
