Yup, that's what hamsters do!! If you don't want food all over your floor you can get a cage with a deeper bottom, or you can get a glass aquarium with a mesh lid

I know, but sometimes when hamsters throw food around IN their cage they throw it OUT of their cage. I never said you let him out.

the only thing fred has did in the cage was throwing the sawdust out of the cage.
