Like the others, i've never had a horse, but i remember the first ever pony i rode. His name was Goldie, he was a 12hh palomino Welsh Mountain mix and was 15 years old. I was 4 years old when i started riding, and i got on very well with Goldie and he was always my favourite pony. I did pretty well with him too, when i was nearly 6 we were both jumping fences at just under a metre. But, being tall, i grew too big for him all too quickly and had to move onto larger ponies and horses. At eight, i was thrown badly by a pony (no, not the arab incident...lol ) and lost my confidence really badly and took a year off riding. I then went back, and Goldie was no longer there. He had been sold. I moved riding schools pretty soon after that, as that riding school had become rather dilapidated and it didn't feel right without Goldie there. I often wonder what happened to that lovely little pony......

First horse that was every truly mine was an off the track 3 year old greenbroke Quarter horse, not the best horse for a 7 year old LOL, but I loved him and I was the only person he would listen to.

Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!

I've never owned one (and probably never will!), but the first one I rode was around seventeen years old.
